The 2008 Girls Engaged in Math and Science workshop was held November 21st at the Amy Greenwell Gardens above Kealakakua. The day is sponsored by the Association of American University Women. Fifth grade girls from all over the island gather to participate in hands on workshops guided by women working in science and technology. The purpose of workshop is to excite girls to get involved with science, technology, engineering and math.
