Gary Washburn was presented with a Grammy Signature Schools Enterprise Award on May 12, 2011 at the Honoka'a People's Theatre. Musicians and award winners, Cyril Pahanui, Charles Brotman, Skylark and Allen Yamamoto represented the Grammy Foundation . The prize included a cash award to the school of $5,500 and a trophy. Gary and Honoka'a High School principal Glenn Grey, accepted the award and trophy at a short ceremony that opened the annual Honoka'a High School Ensembles Talent Show.
